Silver medals 2018 and 2023
Ultra premium series of 300 numbered bottles. drawn from cask number B7 (single cask).
Double distilled over a wood fire in the art of the most prestigious of its appellations, the AOC Calvados Pays d’Auge.
The Royal Family of England was not mistaken, since one of the first bottles of the Millennium Calvados from the Château de Courménil sits at the table of their palace. But let them enjoy it sparingly, for even princes cannot escape its rarity. We warmly thank them for the extraordinary distinction of the arms of the Crown.
Tasting:
To the eye, barely amber gold, a witness to its old cask from the last century.
On the nose, sumptuous and silky, a mille-feuille of honey and oak.
On the palate, supremely elegant, combining apple blossom with dried fruits and toasted almonds wrapped in notes of mocha. A perfect balance for a lingering finish celebrating the greatest Calvados of the Pays d’Auge.
1999 harvest
A year that will remain in Normandy’s memory.
The autumn harvest was exceptional. A great storm in December sadly tore up several hundred of our apple trees, which thus took an elegant bow after their final harvest: the one that would become the incredible Millennium vintage, a «coeur de chauffe», the heart of the run that the old hands kept for themselves on the rare cuvées that allowed it.
