Around the distillery, in the Pays d'Auge
Around Courménil you will find a host of fascinating places.
For enthusiasts of history, music, horses and, of course, gastronomy
Tiny though it is, our village is distinguished by the memory of a little girl who became the most famous in the history of music.
Following her parents' wedding in the church of Courménil, little Alphonsine Duplessis would frolic among our orchards.
After a hard-working youth as an umbrella maker in nearby Gacé, the brilliant young girl went up to Paris, charmed a great many celebrities, among them Franz Liszt, and became Marie, Comtesse de Perregaux, one of the most courted women in Europe.

4 km from Courménil, the Château de Gacé houses a small museum devoted to her.

French writer Alexandre Dumas could not resist her charms and made her the heroine of his novel
"The Lady of the Camellias".
Victor Hugo wrote "Le Roi s'amuse" for her whose libretto served Guiseppe Verdi to compose "La TRAVIATA" in her honour.
One day we shall dedicate a liqueur to her;
here, already, is its inspiration.

Aware of the unique ecological richness of our commune, the Normandy Region has acquired plots of land with characteristics identical to those we preserve on our own estate.
The botanists of the Natura 2000 Park run guided tours there, which we warmly invite you to join,

Just 20 minutes from our distillery lies the village of Camembert, home of the world's most famous cheese.
And since your taste buds are on the right road, carry on towards Livarot, then Pont-l'Évêque to fill your basket with the finest cheeses in Normandy.
And at last – or should we say at feast – follow your heart across the Seine to Neufchâtel, whose cheese we love every bit as much.
